Parrish was born in Guelph, Ontario, and studied painting, film, and multimedia at the University of Western Ontario. Post graduation, he attended Sheridan College to focus on character animation and short film production. Based on the strength of his award winning student film, Eureka!, Parrish was hired by prominent videogame developer BioWare (now a division of Electronic Arts) as a Cinematic Animator for their upcoming Xbox 360 title, Mass Effect. After shipping Mass Effect to critical and commercial success, Parrish went on to lead the Cinematic team for Mass Effect 2 and help establish Bioware’s Montreal studio. Parrish currently resides in Edmonton with his wife, Nadine.
